Inspired by her background as a professional ballet dancer, Amy Osaba
dreamt of creating this shoot as a way to merge both of her passions-
ballet and floral design. The movement and grace of ballet along with
the delicacy and hidden strength of dancers has always influenced her
floral design work. During her 10 years as a ballerina, Amy learned how
delicate the human body can be while maintaining an inner strength
despite the pain one may feel during the course of a practice or
performance. Recognizing one’s passion is significant but learning to
adapt your passion to what suits your current lifestyle is simply
invigorating. You can’t be a ballerina forever, but you can create
movement and graceful compositions in more ways than one.
After months of planning, everything came together perfectly for Amy, her team, and Meghan Kay Salder in an emotional charged and sincere 2 hours of shooting. Amy wanted her concept to come to fruition in the most authentic way possible, so she scouted out a NYCB (New York City Ballet) ballerina, Savannah, along with stunning gowns from Samuelle couture that were the perfect accessories to display the unreal movements that ballerinas can achieve.

The manager suggested doing a signature cocktail during cocktail hour, which turned to be a huge hit. There is a full bar close to the entrance area of wedding venue in Los Angeles, so we were covered there too. Dessert was a presentation of cookies (all looked homemade) and my favorite was the white chocolate, macadamia nut.
